The Woodlands Highlanders delivered an impressive showing at the UIL Academic Regional Championships held last weekend at Baylor University, earning top placements across multiple events. TWHS ranked 22nd overall out of 57 schools represented at regional competition.

The Accounting team excelled, with Meena Shanmugam capturing 1st place individually and securing her position at the state competition, and the team earned 3rd place, supported by strong finishes from Alan Besuegli (13th), Ashlyn Ajesh (17th), and Akshara Tiwari (27th).

In Lincoln Douglas Debate, Martin Izquierdo earned 5th place overall.

The Literary Criticism team placed 4th overall, led by Charlotte Steffen (8th), followed by Madi Kern (12th), Hadley Teuscher (21st), and Mia Ashley (24th). Madi Kern also competed in both Ready Writing and Social Studies.

Ian Burch competed in Copy Editing. In Science, the team earned 4th place, with contributions from Felix Walker Hayslip (12th), Lyle Frazier (16th), Kyle Hedengren (19th), and Chen Zhechao (23rd).
