Welcome to the Peet Counselors' Web Page

The counselors at Peet Junior High School are dedicated to meeting the needs of the students we serve.  Each counselor is assigned to a part of the alphabet and will continue to work with those students during the two years the students are at Peet.

Kristen Brennan: A - L
Karen Haase: M - Z
My name is Kristen Brennan, and I serve students with the last names beginning A-L.  I am a graduate of Texas A&M University and Sam Houston State University where I received my master’s degree in counseling. I have been an educator for 24 years, and have spent the last 13 years as a school counselor in the elementary, high school, and junior high settings. Henry Ford once said “Whether you think you can or you can’t, you are right!” I believe in the power of positive thinking and I seek to give my students the positive outlook they need to navigate the challenges they encounter in the school setting and beyond.  My door is always open.

I am a graduate of La Marque High School and attended Sam Houston State University for both my bachelor and master’s degree.  Working as an educator has been my lifelong dream and especially as a counselor for junior high students.   It is a privilege to be the counselor for student’s last name beginning with M – Z.  My life’s philosophy is “Once you replace negative thoughts with positive ones, you’ll start having positive results.”  Please feel free to call any time about educational, personal or social concerns for your child.

  • Please call the Counseling Center at 936-709-3742,  if you would like to schedule a parent-teacher conference with one or more of your child's teachers or if you would like to meet with your child's counselor.
  • Conference times are at 8:15 AM to 8:40 AM Monday through Friday.
